A74 and M74 Strip Maps

The A74 / M74 in 1987
Moving on just one year from 1986, things continue to change in the middle section. As ever, we start at the north end with the original section of the M74 through Lanarkshire, which last changed in 1985.
In the next two sections, we see some significant alterations since 1986 - the M74 extension south towards Abington has now open, except for the last stretch just north of the A70. The junction numbers on the new section have changed to the rpesent day numbering section, but I don't have any strip maps of the northern section from 1987 with updated junction numbers. The opening of the new motorway has resulted in the creation of Britain's best B road the B7078 which is largely dual carriageway, and deserted!
No change on the next extract since 1985, in fact, nothing since 1980...
The completed Cumberland Gap section also remains as it was in 1980.
